Breakfast and Listing at Fortnums

Yesterday was a very exciting day for me: following ‘The World’s Original Marmalade Awards’, I received an invitation from sponsors, Fortnum & Mason, to join them for a Winners Breakfast in the boardroom at their flagship store in Picadilly, London!

I took the 0600 train from Lymington Pier, with Jim waving me off from the bridge of his ferry! Having never been to F&M I was doubly excited to be visiting this prestigious London store. Well, I wasn’t disappointed – the store was breathtaking and so very British. We were shown up to the 5th floor and into the boardroom, which had been beautifully decorated for the event.

After canapés and marmalade inspired cocktails we were seated and served a four course breakfast, again with various marmalades being used in the dishes.  Whilst enjoying this very special meal, I chatted with my dining companions about all things marmalade including ideas for next year’s award entries.

Following breakfast we headed down to the Food Hall on the ground floor. On a special display were five marmalades that Fortnum & Mason had selected from the Gold Award Winners to be sold in store…..and our Lemon, Honey & Ginger Marmalade was amongst those selected! We now have this product listed at Fortnum & Mason and they also happen to be our first stockest outside Devon!!
